Raiders All-Pro CB Asomugha suffered eye injury in Sunday game
During Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Oakland Raiders lost their All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who had to be sidelined after being poked in the eye. In fact, he tried a brief return, but had to leave the game at the end with vision trouble.
“It’s killing me right now,” Asomugha said. “They kept putting numbing drops in, but that would go away after about five minutes. The cornea was damaged on the third play of the game. I got hit in the eye by DeSean (Jackson), so we’ll check it out tomorrow.”
Asomugha returned the field after lying down on a table behind the bench for about 20 minutes while being examined by several members of the medical staff. He played for a while with the shield on because the light caused pains to the injured eye. But soon he found that it was a waste of time for him to stay on the field because he could not see clear. Then he left the field again and watched as much of the game as he could. To his gladness, his team finally won over the Eagles at 13-9.
